Antique Hard Wood Box with a Micro Mosaic View of Venice.
In the second half of the 19th century, a briarwood (?) box (probably a snuff box) was made in Venezia. The cover is decorated by a small oval of a micro mosaic depicting the railroad bridge that connects Venezia with the mainland. (This bridge was completed in 1841). Inside the box is a tortoise shell.
