This gold brooch showcases beautiful intarsio work, aventurine glass, and a detailed micro mosaic featuring the Lion of St. Mark (protector of the city of Venice). Crafted in Venice around the mid-19th century, it is likely the work of Domenico Bussolin (?-1886).
