This ancient murrina is part of a series of portraits depicting notable figures from the Italian Risorgimento, created by Jacopo Franchini. The series includes portraits of Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy; General Giuseppe Garibaldi; and Prime Minister Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour. This murrina is referenced in the book “Miniature di vetro – Murrine 1838-1974” by Professor G. Sarpellon, published in Venice in 1990 by Arsenale, on page 83, picture 628.
