The series of portraits by Jacopo Franchini is noteworthy; however, the works of Luigi Moretti (1867-1946) also deserve special attention.
Luigi Moretti’s portraits feature three Kings of Italy: Vittorio Emanuele II, Umberto I, and the future Vittorio Emanuele III, who was then the heir to the throne. This lesser-known murrina exemplifies the style characteristic of Luigi Moretti’s portraits.
This is also mentioned in Professor Sarpellon’s book, “Miniature di Vetro – Murrine 1838 – 1924,” published by Arsenale Editrice in Venice, 1990, on page 133, figure 953.
