Buddhist Tabular Luk Mik Agate Bead
A wonderful rare size antique tabular bead, in shape called LUK MIK (horse eye). It has a natural eye. On flat side, it presents an engraving: we suppose it is later than the making of the bead. The overall condition is mostly very good, scrapes due to use of fragments (powdered) in Tibetan medicine.

The legend says that the older the bead and the more people who have held beliefs in a bead’s ability to protect them, the more powerful the bead becomes. So maybe it is a mixture of both natural science and belief, working side by side. Then new beads will have very little, if any, power at all, and none of it protective.
A lot of people (not only from Tibet or Nepal or China) likes to wear one gZi as a protection from evil when travels.
