Antique micromosaic mounted in white metal, made in Roma during the first half of the 19th century.
The subject of the decoration is a pelican, giving pieces of his flesh to his progeny, a symbol of Christ and the Eucharist.

Very good condition, no tesserae (tiles) missing, no dents on the mount.
